Dixie Southern Industrial, Inc. (DSI) is a family owned business founded in January 1989 as a structural and miscellaneous steel erection company. In 1991, DSI took a more extensive role in our projects by offering steel fabrication services to our resume. This has proven to be an excellent fit. Originally being an erector, DSI is extremely schedule driven and well aware of the importance of project schedules - fabrication and erection. With the majority of work performed in-house, the General Contractor need only to coordinate deliveries, schedules and changes with one entity. Disputes between fabricator and erector are eliminated. The Project Manager assigned to the project is able to answer questions and coordinate schedules along with solving problems concerning both operations, shop and field. By performing these two services in-house, it has enabled us to provide our General Contractors/Owners a well-organized and timely turnkey steel package.

Dave was the first Project Manager hired by Dixie Southern Industrial.??His absolute, hard work and dedication was instrumental in Dixie’s continued growth.?As the Senior Project Manager, he personally managed hundreds of projects with the utmost professionalism, honesty and can-do spirit.?Always there when you needed help???His skill and knowledge were second to none.?A few of the unique projects Dave managed are: ·????????Super Hero Island at Universal Studios ·????????Portofino Bay Hotel ·????????Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge ·????????Cessna Citation Maintenance Facility ·????????The Plaza ·????????Advent Health Executive Tower, Ginsburg Tower, Kissimmee Tower ·????????EA Office Building ·????????Spirit Simulation Bldg. Dave’s unselfishness was second to none.?He always was willing to share his knowledge with many and his enthusiasm coupled with his work ethic will be missed. Dixie Southern Industrial recently lost a good friend and longtime employee, Jim Sterling.?Jim was a part of the Dixie Southern family for over fourteen years as head of our Maintenance Department. He was a true friend to the owners and company. ?Jim was very well loved and respected among his peers and he will be dearly missed. ?Our condolences go out to his family.?Rest in peace Jim.
