Phone scams can come in many forms, but they tend to make similar promises and/or threats. Oftentimes they ask you to pay specific ways, such as wiring money, putting money on a gift card or prepaid card. Anyone who asks you to pay that way is not affiliated with your utility company. If you believe you have received a scam phone call or have concerns, hang up and report the suspected scam to the Federal Trade Commission at https://lnkd.in/dxzVaWP or call 1-877-382-4357.
