I’m a Black woman.? I’m a leader.?? And I belong in every room I step into.? They may question how you got here.? But you know the truth—your talent, your drive, your brilliance. When I got into University of Virginia, they said it was because I was Black.?? When I got my first supervisor role, they said the same.?? When I became a director, again—I heard it.? But I refuse to let anyone define my worth. And so should you.? Your skills got you here.? Your hard work keeps you here.? And your ambition will take you further.? This Black History Month, I celebrate you. Keep showing up. Take up space. Secure your job. Build your business. Shoutout to organizations like Diversity Cyber Council, working to increase minority representation in tech. P.S. What organizations do you know that are support DEI? Happy Black History Month!???? ?? Repost for someone that needs this message today.

We often receive emails from prospect scholars asking what it is really like to participate in one of our programs and what makes us different. We think the best way to answer these questions is direct from the source, so we began chronicling the journey of our scholars to highlight the challenges and high points they experience from week to week. Hear direct from Team 3 below about their experience in the 5th week as a scholar in Diversity Cyber Council's Cybersecurity Pre-Apprenticeship Program. https://lnkd.in/gBqVJaAR

?? I'm happy to annouce that Team #Katamarans - Kacper Cybula ???? Dawid Bińczyk and me took 2nd place in the Architectural Kata 2024 by #oreillymedia ??, and we couldn’t be more excited by the journey it took to get there! ?? Our challenge was to design a bias-free hiring system for the Diversity Cyber Council. A big thank you to the amazing judges Mark Richards, Neal Ford, Chelsea Troy, David Bock and Sarah Wells who took the time to review and evaluate every detail of our solution. ?? It was such an amazing challenge that gave me so many incredible experiences! ??

Shameless brag incoming ?? Yesterday, along with Kacper Cybula ???? and Micha? Fija?kowski, we took second place in this fall’s O'Reilly Architectural Katas competition. We were putting our software architecture skills to the test on a challenge an actual organisation is facing, and we were doing it against other architects from all around the world. ?? And a challenge it was… We were asked to design a system for a non-profit called Diversity Cyber Council that addressed inequities and underrepresented demographics in the tech industry by aiding the recruitment process, removing potential biases, and matching candidates to their perfect jobs based on their technical merits. ??????? There is not a lot of positivity involved in being second best. Thinking you were only inches away, that one extra push from being on the top, it is a bittersweet place to be, but it has its perks. First off, I see room for improvement, fueling my “we can do better” mindset. However, the biggest perk is having bragging rights. We got to the podium, we worked hard to get there, and I am feeling proud about it. ????
