We are pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Villa Hermosa, a 288-unit property located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This closing marks Dominium’s official expansion into the state of New Mexico.
Villa Hermosa was constructed in 1999 and financed under the 4% low-income housing tax credit program. Upon resyndicating in the spring of 2025, the property will undergo an $11.5 million renovation with Dominium Construction & Architectural Services (DCAS) acting as both general contractor and architect. Upgrades will include extensive work to the clubhouse, outdoor amenity space, and unit interiors.
This project would not have been possible without the support of our development partners. The acquisition debt financing was provided by Merchants Capital, a valued partner of Dominium. In addition, we’d like to thank our DCAS team, Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A., and the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority.
Finally, we’d like to congratulate and thank all Dominium team members who played a role in making this transaction a reality: Mark Lambing, Rodrigo Dorador, Jacob Berger, Kai P., and Retivia Stevens, along with a special thanks to Adam Brookins, Nash Chute and Beau Prest.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the closing of this transaction and to those who will be involved in the construction and operation of this site in the future.
