关于我们
As America enters the second decade of the new millennium, the role of educating the ever-increasing number of people of color and other underrepresented minority groups has taken on unprecedented urgency, and the stakes will become even more consequential in the coming months and years. The quality of life for all Americans has now become inextricably linked to a citizenry that possesses a college degree. Indeed, the college degree has replaced the high school diploma as the vehicle for sustained participation in the middle class and beyond. The key to the achievement of this goal is knowledge and information about higher education. And when it comes to providing the information that underpins this, Diverse: Issues In Higher Education has been at the forefront for over 39 years. Leaders from academe, industry and public policy have all come to rely on this award-winning news magazine to stay abreast of the trends and issues that go to the very core of the future of this country and its place in an ever-changing world.

When it comes to my professional life, I don’t often post, and I don’t spend much time curating information about myself online. The time I could spend talking about my work is time I’d rather use doing the work—building, supporting, and ensuring that the people and institutions I serve have what they need to succeed. Almost all of my career has been spent behind the scenes, ensuring that programs, initiatives, and projects are executed with excellence. I take deep pride in that work, and the greatest satisfaction comes from seeing the impact—whether it’s a student finding their path, a program transforming lives, or an institution thriving. Because of this, being recognized as one of this year’s Top 40 Leaders Making a Difference in the World of Academe is an honor that I accept with deep gratitude. It is a reminder that the work we do, even when it happens behind the scenes, matters. Thank you to Diverse: Issues In Higher Education for this recognition and honor. Thank you to the colleagues, mentors, and students who continue to inspire and push me to be better every day. And of course, huge shout out to my fellow Quinnites and President Michael Sorrell for allowing me to be part of an institution that pushes the boundaries of higher education!
