?? Teamship in Action: Anina’s Journey with District C ?? In Duquesne City School District, 7th and 8th grade students are stepping into the real world through District C’s Teamship program. Together, they’re solving real problems for real business partners—like brainstorming ways to improve Polish Hill Park with Ross Township Town Manager, Douglas Sample. One student, Anina, started the program as a quiet and reserved participant, hesitant about teamwork and presentations. But through purposeful coaching and hands-on problem-solving, she found her voice. Anina embraced her role, keeping her team on track with daily agendas, diving deep into research, and exploring solutions with curiosity. On presentation day, she led her team with confidence, sharing her ideas and showing the power of teamwork. Programs like Teamship don’t just teach skills—they transform students. The nonprofit sector needs leaders and Teamship is stepping up! One of our business partners, Girls Geared For Greatness, a Raleigh-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is on a mission to prepare girls today with the tools and confidence they need to shape a brighter future. Founded in 2018 by former competitive dancer Chasta Hamilton, the organization fuses dance with leadership training and character development. Through Teamship, students collaborate with organizations like Girls Geared For Greatness, tackling real challenges while gaining hands-on experience, mentorship, and valuable problem-solving skills. This unique partnership helps students develop the durable skills—teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking—essential for the #FutureOfWork.
