Introducing Christopher Lowe! As Chair of the Board and the Investment Committee at DispatchEnergy, Chris serves as the interim Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer. With over 35 years in the power, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors, he brings expertise from his previous roles as an investment banker, chief financial officer at a wind energy company, and chief investment officer of an infrastructure fund. Over his career, he has raised, invested, and managed billions of dollars of capital across all formats. Originally from the UK, Chris moved to New York in 1994 with prior employers such as JPMorgan, Noble Environmental Power, and SteelRiver Infrastructure Partner. He holds a degree in Mathematics from St Catharine's College, Cambridge University in the UK, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Veterans Day holds a significant place in American history, commemorating the sacrifices and achievements of those who have served in the country's armed forces. Originating in 1919 under President Wilson's proclamation, the day was initially named Armistice Day to remember those who served in World War I. It symbolized pride in the heroism displayed and gratitude for the hard-won peace. This was expanded in 1954 when Congress, responding to the incredible mobilization during World War II and the Korean War, renamed it Veterans Day, broadening its scope to honor all veterans. Today, it serves as a day when Americans collectively express their respect for those who serve our nation. Veterans comprise a large segment of the renewable energy workforce, 9% of the industry, outpacing their representation in the general workforce. Within our industry, veterans have transitioned their military skills to civilian professions, finding meaningful employment in positions that often require leadership, teamwork, and a strong work ethic, with specific programs in place to help harness veterans' unique skill sets for the clean energy industry. With over 27,000 veterans employed in solar and 10,000 in wind, we are proud to be a part of an industry that sees the incredible value in employing our nation's heroes. Today, we are introducing Peter Brown, our General Counsel at DispatchEnergy! With over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, Peter's expertise spans project development and finance to energy management and commodity supply. As a graduate with a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky and a Mathematics degree from the University of Dayton, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic vision to our team. Peter most recently held the positions of Head of Global Energy Management and Head of Global Brokerage at World Kinect, a global leader in liquid fuel distribution and energy solutions. There, he helped oversee the company's global expansion through both organic growth and acquisitions. Before this, Peter held commercial and legal positions at several firms, including Trane Energy Services, Constellation Energy, and Northeast Utilities (now Eversource).
