As we close out this momentous 50th-anniversary year, we honor our visionary founder, Father Jack Hickey, whose dream became a haven for more than 1,000 men seeking a second chance. Let’s travel back in time with the words of Dean Graber, former Dismas House Writer in Residence: “On a sunny September afternoon, I drive from Dismas House on Charlotte Avenue and steer three miles toward the Vanderbilt campus. Twelve minutes later, I land 50 years back in time at the original Dismas House of Nashville, on Music Row.
