Today I told my students about the baby sting ray naming contest at Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania and they were so excited to share with their elementary classes. One student used ChatGPT to come up with the name Rayonce (instead of Beyonce) ?? So thankful for a moment of joy ?? Can’t wait to see what the final name will be! Exciting news for Discovery Space visitors! Did you catch this segment on WTAJ-TV? We’re getting SO excited to welcome a baby California round ray to our marine life exhibit in early March! Thanks to our partnership with Electric City Aquarium & Reptile Den, we’ll be raising a baby stingray until she’s old enough to rejoin the adult stingrays in Scranton. But first—she needs a name! We’re inviting classrooms and scout troops to join the fun by submitting a name for our newest marine friend. This is a fantastic way for kids to learn about marine life, ecosystems, and the important role stingrays play in our oceans. Here’s how to participate: ?? Download the Coloring Sheet ?? Submit a class/group name by Friday, 2/28 ?? Finalists will be chosen for public voting! The winning class will receive: ?? A free mini lesson plan with activity materials ???
