Three weeks. A ticking clock. A massive event to promote. With just 3 weeks to promote Perseverancia’s Second Soccer Tournament, we had to move fast. No room for fluff- just focused execution. And we did. Working alongside Jack Rothacker, I helped develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy from scratch, ensuring every move had impact, every partnership was maximized, and every touchpoint was optimized. For 2 weeks, I focused primarily on digital execution: ?? Built a high-impact digital marketing campaign across various channels that drove engagement across campus ?? Designed and collaborated with organizations on attention-grabbing Instagram content to pushed sign-ups and amplified reach ?? Collaborated on a Technician article feature to extend visibility beyond social media ?? Strengthened partnerships and leveraged strategic collaborations to bring in new players and supporters And when it was game time, I took it even further: ?? Put together a team of photographers and videographers that captured real-time and post-event content ?? Scaled up post-event promotional materials with drone footage, a major upgrade from last year, capturing the full energy and scope of the tournament ?? Captured live event content to generate real-time buzz, drive massive FOMO, and lay the groundwork for next year’s promo with high-impact online engagement The Tournament Results? ?? 28 teams (up from 12 last year), 196 players, 350 attendees ?? $4,500 raised for classrooms for children in El Salvador ?? A sold-out pupusa vendor (Salvadoran cultural food) ?? Live music from a Venezuelan band, Stan and Denghy ?? A successful signed Kevin Keatts basketball raffle ?? PRIME and Celcius as major drink sponsors The Digital Impact: ?? Perseverancia’s Instagram +720% accounts reached +515% profile visits +9,600% external signup link taps ?? Discomfort Club’s Instagram +6.98% followers +59.3% external signup link taps We brought people together, created opportunities, and amplified a cause that matters. From live music to cultural food to an electric game day atmosphere, we made sure everyone had a way to be part of something bigger. This collaboration reinforced what I love about marketing: when done right, it brings people together. The right mix of strategy, creativity, and execution can bring a community together. It also taught me more about momentum, clarity, and making people care. Even with extreme time constraints, the right team, the right strategy, and relentless execution can turn a last-minute challenge into an unforgettable moment. Huge props to our power team: Jack Rothacker, Shire Thompson, Jon Grigg, and all the incredible volunteers! Also a special thank you to Charles Monteith for the video. Couldn't be more thankful to have been a part of this. ?? Support the cause: https://lnkd.in/eAp8mm5M

We mistake identity for permanence, but what if identity is meant to be iterative? We aren't losing ourselves in change. We're shedding outdated versions that no longer serve us. The real fear isn’t change itself, but the uncertainty of who we will be on the other side. But here’s the paradox: the parts of ourselves we try to preserve are often the ones holding us back. The most adaptable people don’t only survive change, they actively shape it, using uncertainty as a canvas rather than a constraint. So instead of asking "How do I stay the same?", ask "What outdated assumptions about myself am I ready to let go of?" #IdentityShift #IntentionalGrowth #Adaptability #Evolution #Reinvention #GrowthMindset #Resilience

Rejection is something we’re wired to avoid. We stay in the safe zones of approval, validation, and certainty. But what if we stopped fearing it and started seeking it instead? In his TED Talk, "What I Learned from 100 Days of Rejection," Jia Jiang flipped the script. Instead of dodging rejection, he chased it. ?? He asked a stranger to borrow $100. ?? He requested "rejection-worthy" favors. ?? He intentionally put himself in situations that most of us would avoid at all costs. And what he discovered was game-changing: ? Rejection isn’t a stop sign. It’s an invitation to grow. ? Our fear of rejection is often bigger than the rejection itself. ? By embracing discomfort, we unlock doors we didn’t even know existed. This applies to networking, leadership, career growth, and life itself. The biggest opportunities often lie just beyond an uncomfortable conversation or a bold request. Yet, we hesitate, fearing the "no" that might never come. What’s one rejection you’ve been avoiding? Maybe it’s reaching out to a mentor, pitching a bold idea, or applying for a dream role. What would happen if you went for it anyway? The fastest way to build confidence is to step into discomfort. You might get a "no" or you might just get a life-changing "yes." #GrowthMindset #Resilience #RejectionTherapy #Networking #Leadership #EmbracingDiscomfort #CareerGrowth TED Conferences YouTube Video: https://lnkd.in/e5A6d4Jw

"I worked 3 jobs until 10PM, took 21 credits, and chased perfect grades. Then I realized I was going after the wrong thing." - Lucas Ciscato, VP of Discomfort Club Have you ever pushed yourself to point where you burn out, only to wonder if it's truly worth it? Lucas once believed success meant nonstop work and flawless grades. But he realized that success isn’t about running yourself into the ground. By shifting focus from perfect grades to personal growth, his academics improved and he found genuine fulfillment. In high school, we are told that the only way to be successful is to put all this pressure on yourself. That's not true. Don't just work harder, but working smarter by speaking up and building genuine relationships. Success isn’t about doing more- it’s about doing what matters. At Discomfort Club, we push our members for real achievement to feel fulfilled with life: ?? Speaking up when your voice shakes ?? Connecting with intimidating professors ?? Pursuing opportunities beyond your comfort zone Ready to redefine what success looks like? Follow us for more. #StudentSuccess #PersonalGrowth #GrowthMindset #Mindset #SelfImprovement #Fulfillment

We don't rise to the level of our goals. We fall to the level of our systems. Most people chase motivation to achieve success. But here's the truth: Motivation is like a spark. It ignites action but burns out quickly. Systems are the slow-burning fuel that creates lasting change. Let me share my transformation from a failed resolution to a bulletproof system: The Old Way: "I need to exercise more" → Bought expensive gym membership → Went hard for 2 weeks → Burned out → Quit The System That Changed Everything: 1. Evening prep: Lay out gym clothes by coffee maker 2. Morning coffee → Put on gym shoes 3. Gym shoes on → "Just 5 minutes" of movement 4. 5 minutes in → Full workout completed But here's what really made it stick: ? Removed friction: Gym bag always packed, pre-planned workouts ? Built-in recovery: Scheduled rest days (no guilt) ? Progress tracking: Simple X's on calendar (seeing the current streak) ? Failure protocol: If I miss a day, just put the shoes on tomorrow Result: From sporadic gym visits to 4x/week consistency for 6 months. More importantly? It feels effortless now. 3 Keys to Building Effective Systems: ?? Make it ridiculously small (smaller than you think) ?? Link it to an existing habit (like a coffee routine) ?? Focus on the first domino, not the entire chain The science behind this? Stanford researcher BJ Fogg found that tiny habits, when properly anchored, have a 90% higher success rate than traditional goal-setting. ?? Key Takeaway: Stop relying on motivation. Start engineering your environment. What’s one system you can tweak today to make your life 1% better? #ProductivityHacks #PersonalDevelopment #BuildBetterHabits #SystemsThinking

??? Did You Catch This on WKNC 88.1 FM? Last semester, a simple but powerful message aired on our campus radio: a call to step beyond what’s comfortable and embrace growth. It was an invitation to rethink how you approach challenges, connection, and change. It was a challenge to consider the power of stepping outside your comfort zone. Every decision to embrace the unknown brings a chance to grow- whether it’s meeting someone new, trying something unfamiliar, or reflecting on what truly matters. Growth isn’t always about big leaps. Sometimes, it’s the small steps into discomfort that make all the difference. Discomfort Club is more than a place to connect. We are a community built on shared experiences, mutual encouragement, and the willingness to face challenges together. But this ad wasn't only about our organization- it was about you: ?? The students walking onto campus for the first time, balancing excitement with the unknown. ?? The friends navigating tough conversations, learning to grow together rather than apart. ?? The professionals reflecting on purpose, aligning their work with what fuels their passion. Discomfort Club exists to support those moments, because it’s not about perfection or performance; it’s about progress- together. We’re continuing to build a supportive environment where students like you can grow, learn, and connect. Follow us for events, insights, and challenges that push boundaries and spark conversation.
