From Billie Eilish dance parties at our hi-fi vinyl listening room to deep dives into the data and motivation behind collecting, Discogs was facilitating music obsession and discovery all weekend. This week, the Discogs staff attended A2IM (American Association of Independent Music) Indie Week in New York to discuss the record collecting journey, and all of the twists and turns it might take. Seller engagement lead Russ Ryan hosted a chat about the emergence of listening rooms and Hi-Fi bars, (and how they are forging communities) while Discogs brand director Jen Agosta addressed an important part of the Discogs fabric: Why we collect records. Discovery, community, and the why behind it all is a big part of what we do at Discogs, and it was a true honor to partake in Indie Week. See ya next year NYC, and thanks to all that attended!
