Getting closer to the release date of 'The Sleeping Dead' LP, Sleepbomb is happy to present the newest single 'Refuge/Resist' available from now on via Koolarrow Records/Consouling Sounds?? 'Refuge/Resist is like the film itself' - explains Clair Hamard. 'Alternating long, uncertain pauses with both dramatic and physical tension. Just like the scene in the movie that presents characters at complete odds with each other building up a precarious shelter threatened by the zombies amassing outside, the harmonic construction of this track is constantly challenged by an imminent dissonant attack.' With every moment of calmness, supported by repetitive drone-sounds, Sleepbomb deliver the symbiosis of etherial vocal harmonies and aggressive riffing. While the absence of any real resolution at the end of the track heralds the future failure of the plan hatched by the characters, unable to cooperate. Spesimin came into being in 2019, when Punk-rooted Ian (Vocals/Drums) and Jazz inflected Alejandro (Guitar) joined forces after bonding over their shared appreciation for old-school Thrash and Death Metal. Ian’s former bandmate Jeff (Bass) joined in 2020, bringing his love of Florida Death Metal and New York Hardcore to perfectly round out the band’s unique brand of melodic evil Metalpunk. While fusing elements of Punk, Hardcore, Thrash and Death Metal, Spesimin often defers to Rock grooves and melody over blasts and brutality. The musically adventurous trio has recently refined their approach, transporting their precision riffing and primitive rhythms into slightly Doomier territory, incorporating its long-form technical elements, while continuing to explore deadly serious subjects. With the team of Amphetamine Reptile we're happy to announce the long-awaited reissue of one of label's cult releases from the 90's. 'Peacetika' was originally released in 1991 and has been out of print for a while now. Commenting on the upcoming reissue, Thomas Hazelmyer says: "Cows were hugely integral to the heart and soul of AmRep. They were workhorses in the amount of releases and touring they did, the support they gave to new bands and shaping the overall aesthetic and internal culture. That’s the reason I’ve always treated Cows projects a bit more ‘precious’ for lack of better term. Aw whom I kidding, Cows were precious AF right ? We’ve been talking about reissuing Peacetika for a few years but hadn’t solved how to approach it as no one involved wanted to revisit the original cover as is. That they were masters of marrying humor with menace puts them in rarified strata. I wanted the right idea that expanded on the original tie dye art, joke, concept and era. When it hit we were off and running. CDs would be available for order today at 9AM Central Time(US).
