Why Disciple-Makers Must “Show Their Flank” ???? In battle, exposing your flank is risky—but in disciple-making, showing your flank is the key to building trust. Too often, leaders feel the pressure to have it all together. But real discipleship happens when we go first—sharing not just our victories, but our struggles too. ???? Vulnerability fosters connection. When a leader says, “I wrestle with this too,” it creates a safe space where others feel free to grow. Without trust, discipleship stays shallow—transactional instead of transformational. Even Jesus modeled this. He wept, asked for help, and let His disciples see His pain in Gethsemane.
