Thank you to our corporate partner community that joined us yesterday for a virtual webinar, Disability Employment - Advancement Matters: Creating Career Paths for Colleagues with Disabilities, to spark conversations and emphasize the importance of talent development programs that support professionals?with #Disabilities. Thank you to the session moderator, Sarah Mark, MA (of Salesforce) for leading this engaging discussion and to the panelists Beth Wiesendanger (she/her/hers) (of Etsy) and Jillian Fortin Burtnett (of Fable) for sharing their perspectives and best practices from their respective industry sectors. A few nuggets from the conversation include: + Overcoming barriers like misaligned expectations, a narrow program of scope, and providing additional tools for success can help development programs have a greater impact. + Employers who create a culture of psychological safety can make it easier for professionals to connect with their leadership and inform them when something isn't right, or when they need additional support to be successful. + Managers can further support professionals with disabilities by becoming trauma-informed leaders; professionals with disabilities can live with trauma navigating a world that is not naturally accommodating to them, and being trauma-informed can help leaders support their employees. You can attend future webinars by becoming a Disability:IN Corporate Partner! Contact Mackenzie Ward ([email protected]) or visit https://lnkd.in/eSahAeG to learn more.
