UCONN Disability Law Students Participate in DRCT’s Community Engagement Housing Clinics! By Mike Whilby, Strategic Partnerships Manager UCONN’s Disability Law students, Maura McCormick and Kim Luciano took part in two housing clinics, respectively that Disability Rights Connecticut (DRCT) hosted at community engagement events: Bristol Veterans Stand Down (9/20) and Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Recovery Walks! (9/28). For each event, Maura and Kim assisted Attorney Byers with educating and informing individuals with disabilities in areas of promoting self-advocacy, combatting disability discrimination, and obtaining reasonable accommodations/modifications in public and private housing. I would like to thank Maura and Kim for their wonderful work at our housing clinics to go along with our informational advocacy tables. Great job!
