??Client Success Story- Accessibility Restored?? College should be a place of opportunity, but for one student, accessibility barriers stood in the way. Despite working with the College's Disability Services, the accommodations provided fell short of meeting her needs. She refused to settle for less. With support from a DRA Advocate, university faculty were reminded of their responsibilities under Section 504 and the ADA. The result? A solution that honored her right to access and dignity. Every student deserves an environment where they can thrive—not just get by. Because accessibility isn’t a privilege. In the 2024 Fiscal Year, our Abuse & Neglect team completed 127 investigations of abuse and neglect in Arkansas. In addition to the investigations, our Abuse & Neglect team followed up on 165 serious occurrence reports by requesting and reviewing additional documentation and video (if available). ??Client Success Story- Restoring Independence? After a life-changing accident left him in a coma for weeks, a client found himself under guardianship, unable to make decisions about his own life. Though he made a strong recovery, his right to self-direction remained out of reach. With the help of one of our attorneys, he challenged the guardianship in court—and won. His independence was restored, reaffirming the fundamental belief that every person deserves the chance to make their own choices. Guardianship should protect, not control.
