Join the Movement: Empower Lives on Giving Tuesday On December 3rd, let's come together to create a more inclusive world for individuals with disabilities. Disability Network West Michigan (DNWM) is participating in Giving Tuesday, and your support can make a real difference. Your donation will directly impact our community by: - Increasing advocacy hours: Helping individuals with disabilities navigate systems and access essential services. - Expanding transportation options: Reimbursing volunteer drivers for miles driven, ensuring reliable transportation for those in need. -Fostering connection: Providing opportunities for peer support groups to gather and reduce social isolation. Together, we can build a more accessible and equitable future. Donate: https://lnkd.in/eB2j3Yaa #GivingTuesday #DisabilityRights #Accessibility #Inclusion

Important Resource Sharing: Santa’s Braille Workshop: https://lnkd.in/eHv4vMsk Does Santa read Braille? Of course, he does! And we help him out during this busy time of year by embossing his letters to kids. "Parents, teachers, and friends: There’s no cost to you. Just let us know who the letter is for, and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll even postmark the letter as shipped from the North Pole! We’ve made Santa’s words more accessible to people with a visual impairment by converting them to braille and including a large print copy." #Disability #DisabilityAwareness #Inclusion #RepresentationMatters

Dear Community, We regret to inform you that despite our best efforts, we were unable to secure ASL interpreters for our 25th Anniversary Event Tomorrow. We requested interpreter services well in advance, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they will not be available. We understand how crucial accessible communication is, and we deeply apologize for the impact this may have on our Deaf and hard-of-hearing community members. We are working hard to ensure this does not happen again by improving our processes and partnerships with interpreter services. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we continue striving for full accessibility. Sincerely, Disability Network West Michigan #Disability #Inclusion #Representation
