Many people think pavement is a luxury in composting, but we find it essential: for product quality, efficiency, and work environment. This past week we finished a major paving project to complete end-to-end asphalt at our facility - nine years after first breaking ground. It is expensive, hence the nine year timeline, but every loader operator has commented that this will save their backs from the pain of bouncing around. Routine tasks are taking 50% of the usual time. Plus, the surface is sweepable, cleanable, and paintable. Our whole team is thankful to Metro for helping fund this project! We also truly appreciate our construction team Crestline Construction for making it happen.
