DSA applauds U.S. Senator John Curtis’ advocacy for the direct selling industry during Senate Commerce Committee Hearing. “Senator Curtis proudly stood up for the direct selling industry, raising concerns similar to those voiced by DSA regarding the FTC’s proposed rulemaking?that unfairly aimed at direct selling,” said Dave Grimaldi, CEO of the Direct Selling Association. “Direct selling is a $37B industry supporting 13,000,000 small business owners in the U.S.,?and?contributing $111.4 billion annually to the U.S. economy, supporting supply chains, household spending and government revenues.”??

Yesterday, in the Senate Commerce Committee, Senator John Curtis (R-UT) stood up for the direct selling channel during questioning in the confirmation hearing of Mark Meador, who has been nominated to be a commissioner at the Federal Trade Commission. Senator Curtis raised identical concerns to DSA’s: the FTC has unfairly targeted direct selling, an industry that diligently adheres to laws and represents 38K jobs and $2.7B revenue in Utah alone.
