Today marks one year since the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed in Baltimore. The Baltimore Museum of Industry has been working on preserving its legacy through?“Echoes from the Key Bridge,” a project to preserve the stories of workers who have been impacted by the bridge collapse. As part of this initiative, #DirectDimensions was involved with 3D scanning the Key Bridge Memorial, featuring a mural by Texas artist Roberto Marquez. This #PresidentsDay we are showing you a sneak peak from our recent project scanning President George Washington's Gavel, which was first used in 1793 at the ceremonial cornerstone laying of the United States Capitol. The precise 3D models we produced from the scan data will ensure that this significant piece of our nation's history forever remains preserved both physically and digitally.
