Every Thanksgiving season, Dimeo comes together to support families in need by collecting monetary and food donations to prepare Thanksgiving baskets. This year, we donated 36 baskets to the Salvation Army! Special recognition goes to Michael Babbitt, who champions this initiative each year and describes it as "without a doubt one of my favorite events." He shares, "This is an effort I have been involved in for almost my entire career to date at Dimeo Construction Company...This effort is made possible through donations from the employees of Dimeo Construction Company and The Dimeo Employee Charitable Fund (DECF)! As in many other ways, Dimeo Construction Company and its employees always find a way to give back to our communities! It's a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season." As National Apprenticeship Week comes to a close, we're proud to celebrate Sharrieff Muhammad as the first graduate of our Construction Management Apprenticeship Program - the first and only in New England! The state-approved program offers a pathway to leadership in the construction industry through three years of hands-on training and weekly classroom sessions. Sharrieff's hard work and dedication have set the tone for future apprentices, and we couldn't be more excited to see all he will accomplish in his new role as an Assistant Project Engineer. Reflecting on his experience, Sharrieff shared "I am appreciative of the opportunity that graduating this apprenticeship has given me. The thing I appreciate the most about working for Dimeo is that everyone in the company has a builder mindset and is always looking to improve the work. The work is titled 'construction management,' but I learn every day that the first management to master is self-management. Every day I come to work, I learn new ways to continuously improve. That inspires me. Seeing this as the bigger picture has helped push me through the challenges. Everyone I've had the opportunity to work with was gracious enough to let me shadow them and learn positive ways to problem solve on the construction site. I'm grateful for that. I'm grateful for the team. As a company, we often do a "Plus/Delta" list to see what we do well and what we can improve. Improving the "Delta" is the work. As National Apprenticeship Week continues, today is dedicated specifically to Women in Apprenticeship! At Dimeo, we're very proud to support women in construction through our apprenticeship program. As Assistant Project Engineer Apprentice, Ianee Gomes, shared, "I'm really thankful for the apprenticeship program here at Dimeo and the opportunities it's given me. When I first started, I wasn't very confident and was unsure how I would handle the challenges ahead, especially being a woman managing a construction site, but my team has been supportive from day one." Last Thursday, the Boston project teams hosted the first annual Big Boston Dimeo Chicken Wing Contest at Lincoln Tavern in South Boston! A total of 7 competitors battled it out to consume as many bone-in wings as possible in 10 minutes with support from a lively crowd, raising $250 for the DECF. Congratulations to Tikori Mahdi, who claimed the trophy with an impressive 22 wings, and to runner-up Andrew Piccolo, who was just behind at 20 wings! Special thanks to founder Patrick Markwarth and organizers Matthew Pelczar and Kevin Ferreira for their efforts in bringing the team together for a great cause. . . #dimeodoes #DECF

We're so excited to be back at M. Virginia Cunningham Elementary School (Pawtucket School Department) for another JA in a Day this year! ??? ? A huge thanks to our amazing volunteers from Santander Bank, N.A., Navigant Credit Union, Bristol County Savings Bank, Bulldog Financial Planning, Centreville Bank and Dimeo Construction Company. They taught financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship to set young people on a path to financial and career success.? ? These 33 volunteers impacted over 340 Pawtucket students in 17 classes! Thank you to everyone for joining us and giving back to the community! ???

87 Trumbull Street has received the AIA New England Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture. The jury remarks: “The design thoughtfully integrates modern materials and techniques, ensuring durability and sustainability. Beautifully nestled within a small footprint between two historic educational buildings, the 87 Trumbull Street project seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with reinterpreted historic details. Cast stone elements emulate the original terracotta banding of 28 Hillhouse, while bay windows recall the character of the older structures, creating a cohesive aesthetic that respects the scale and context of the Hillhouse Avenue Historic District.
