ICYMI: New Jersey BPU President Christine Guhl-Sadovy called community solar her “favorite program to talk about” and “one of the greatest programs that we’ve done under this administration” on a recent New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC) podcast. ? Dimension is thrilled to continue our partnership with NJCDC to bring more New Jersey residents significant energy bill savings. https://lnkd.in/eQdmH8wi
关于我们
Dimension Energy is making clean energy work for everyone. We develop, own, and operate clean energy projects that tap into existing infrastructure, generating power where it’s needed, and providing low-cost clean electricity to surrounding communities. Since our founding in 2018, we have executed more than 450 megawatts (MW) of community solar and invested $400 million into clean energy assets. We plan to invest $3 billion over the next 5 years into a project portfolio of more than 2 gigawatts (GW) across 12 states.

California has another opportunity to lower people’s rapidly rising electric bills while keeping the lights on and cutting pollution with the introduction of AB 1260, Asm. Christopher Ward's new community solar legislation. Central Valley farmer Deborah Reitz writes about the potential this new legislation could have for her farm and her community in The Sacramento Bee:

For Virginia family farmers Christine and Stephen Ault, hosting a Dimension shared solar project on their property allowed them to retire comfortably without having to sell their land. In a new Richmond Times-Dispatch piece, Chris and Steve are advocating for Virginia to fix it’s Shared Solar program to make this option available to more landowners and expand affordable solar energy to more Virginians:

Dimension CEO Rafael Dobrzynski recently weighed in on the implications of big banks leaving the net-zero banking alliance in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution: ? “We expect reputable financial institutions to continue to invest in this technology regardless of membership in thematic alliances.” ? Dimension’s trajectory remains strong;?we closed out 2024 with?multiple?major?financing deals that included backing from big banks like Deutsche Bank, First Citizens, and ING. At the end of the day, community solar projects are infrastructure projects that yield a competitive return.

While California continues to struggle to develop a scalable community solar program that can serve residents affordably and effectively, Dimension was able to move forward the largest third-party-owned community solar project in the country and secure over $100 million in total project capital. ? Coverage of Dimension’s Inyokern, CA project from Anne Fischer at pv magazine USA??
The 44 MW California project will generate $18 million in energy?savings for commercial and residential subscribers, bringing solar to many who otherwise would not have access. #Community #Installations #OptimizersInverters

The future is bright for community solar in the U.S. ? Dimension just closed a major financing package that will support construction of a 122 MW portfolio of 30 community solar projects across DE, IL, ME, NJ, NY, PA and VA next year. ? The financing includes a $284 million investment led by First Citizens Bank?and a structured equity project joint venture with HASI. We’re excited to close another transaction with our existing banking partners and bring on new partners that will allow Dimension to enter new markets and bring affordable energy and good jobs to more Americans in 2025.

Dimension has completed construction of the largest third-party-owned community solar project in the United States in Inyokern, California. ? Our Inyokern project will produce 44 megawatts (MW) of clean energy, serving over 2,000 households, supportive housing organization the Redwood Family Care Network, municipal facilities in the cities of Long Beach and Corona, and commercial offtakers like AT&T and Crown Castle. ? “Dimension has an unparalleled understanding of community solar markets that allows us to recognize and seize opportunities that other people don’t see. We turned a struggling utility scale site into the largest community solar project in the country despite tremendous policy hurdles in the state.” -Dimension Co-Founder & Chief Development Officer Sam Younes

Electricity rates are a burden on Californians, particularly those customers living in the hotter inland parts of the state where electricity usage skyrockets in the summer. Relief has not been fast enough or at a large enough scale. However, 3,700 customers in the Central Valley will now save on average $40 every month through Dimension's three Disadvantaged Communities Community Solar projects. Thousands more customers in Long Beach, Corona, and elsewhere in southern California will have access to bill savings from solar for the first time as a result of Dimension's Inyokern project, the largest third-party community solar project in the country. Dimension is proud to be the only developer to succeed in serving customers across the pilot programs California has put forward over the past decade. However, that experience has led us to realize that a different, more scalable path is needed to go from serving thousands to hundreds of thousands of Californians. While the legislature debates a way to create one-time bill credits, community solar + storage remains a way to cut bills without increasing rates. While the state has yet to create a durable and scalable program, a $250 million grant from the federal government has created a once-in-a-generation opportunity to serve more customers with clean energy and bill savings while improving the reliability of the grid. Dimension looks forward to the California Public Utilities Commission putting these dollars to work quickly to make the most out of this one-time opportunity. Thanks to Mark Chediak for his coverage of the issue.

Excited to share this with you all. The Inyokern project is of historic scale, and represents a huge win for Dimension and our California customers. There is tremendous potential for community solar to bring savings to Californians, and Dimension is committed to making that future happen. Inyokern is a magnificent example of what is possible. https://lnkd.in/e-UGsn5a
