It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Sean Johnson, our purchasing specialist and dear friend, has passed away. Sean wasn’t just a part of the Dillengr team, he was a part of our family. Several people here have known him for over a decade, but his infectious smile and warm nature made him a quick friend to everyone. Not only was he always there to lift our spirits, but he was also incredibly reliable and knowledgeable in the industry. Sean was someone we all relied on and deeply cherished. During work parties and weekends, we had the joy of also getting to know his son, Dax. He would often join his dad during these times, driving around RC cars or playing games. The last time we saw Dax, our IT guy, Malik, helped him hook up to the TV in the conference room, and several employees popped in to say hi and play games with him. It is easy to see that he has inherited Sean’s kindness and light-heartedness. We know how much Sean cared about Dax’s future, and we want to help do everything we can to support him. This year, our Women of Flower Mound (WOFM) engineering scholarship winner was Thomas Faulkner! He will be attending the University of Texas at Austin with the goal of contributing to the exploration and colonization of Mars. We are truly honored to sponsor such a remarkable young engineer. Thomas Faulkner is exceptionally bright, talented, and driven. When he was in the 5th grade, he gave a TEDx talk at Marcus High School titled "Dream the Extreme," where he introduced the audience to his “grandson” and showcased a futuristic vision of life, not bound by “possible” and “impossible.” Since then, Thomas has consistently demonstrated his passion for knowledge, innovation, and engineering, along with his compassion and commitment to his community. His achievements include raising nearly $20,000 through a GoFundMe campaign for his former principal, as well as creating the "Thomas Gives Back" foundation, where he uses his allowance to support teachers, firefighters, and police officers. Moreover, he won the Moonshot portion of the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars program. Thomas's dedication and vision make it clear that he is destined for great things. He aspires to be part of the pioneering crew that reaches Mars. We look forward to seeing what Thomas achieves in the future, and feel so honored to have had the opportunity to support him.
