Hey hey! How is everyone doing? ???? I just wrapped up a full-time marketing contract and uncovered exciting branding strategies for 2025! But before diving in, here are five key lessons I’ve learned throughout my budding entrepreneur career: 1. Build systems around your goals. While hitting client goals, I realized I neglected my own growth. In 2025, I’m focusing on managing a few clients while scaling my own platform. 2. Nurture your soul goals. Pursue what fulfills you, not just what earns you money. For me, that’s theology, wellness, and the arts. These passions fuel my energy and purpose in everything I do. 3. Stop seeing failures as shame. One of the most elegant forms of emotional maturity is the ability to feel disappointment without shaming yourself. Taking ownership of your shortcomings without dehumanizing yourself is a profoundly liberating experience. 4. Incorporate your fears on a smaller scale to avoid burnout. Small things like posting a little bit more on the internet go a long way. 5. Choose how to spend your time wisely. If it wouldn’t make your 5-year-old self proud, don’t bother. My 2025 goals? Simple: steady growth, continuing to water the seeds planted in 2024. ?? But I can’t make you take action and get in front of the camera. - I can explain how colors influence your emotions. But I can’t make you notice how they affect your decisions every single day. - I can explain why consistency leads to mastery. But I can’t make you show up and do the work every day. What I can do is keep creating content to help you realize it’s time to get out of your own way. What I can do is share tips to help you better understand your decision-making process. Happy 1 month of standing on my business ??! To celebrate, I baked banana cake. That’s one month of moving through life with purpose, silencing fears, and making the most of every breath God gives me. I’m still working on so MUCH ( website), but I wanted to share a few lessons I’ve learned so far: * You can’t “soft girl” your way into a soft life. * Test your friends early. “Bad company corrupts good character” (1 Corinthians 15:33). * Life hardens you by default. You need to make a conscious effort to stay lively, youthful, and fun. * There is no “finish line.” The journey IS the destination. Thank you for following me on this crazy journey. You don’t have business problems. You have problems with yourself that show up in business. As I navigate the worlds of business and design, I've realized that many complex concepts are really just fundamental life skills in disguise: ?? Personal branding is marketing speak for knowing who you are. ?? Visual hierarchy is design jargon to avoid information overload. ?? Technical skills boil down to problem-solving and effective research. These aren’t advanced concepts; they’re basic life skills. While society often implies that mastering these requires extensive experience, I believe otherwise. With AI and the internet at our fingertips, you don’t need a computer science degree or an MBA to excel. What you need is a commitment to learning, unlearning, and practicing. Most importantly, you need to be someone others want to mentor and collaborate with. You don’t need to incur an educational mortgage to be savvy in business. What you need is self-awareness because: - If you struggle with conversations, it will affect how you interact with clients. - If public speaking is a challenge, it will impact your sales and influence among your colleagues. - If you grapple with personal issues, your relationships will remain superficial, resulting in a weak network. You can try to avoid personal struggles, but they’ll inevitably impact your professional life. Embrace personal development, and success will follow. While professional education is beneficial, real growth starts with self-awareness. I’ve often struggled with letting others’ opinions hold more weight than my own self-perception. However, I’m actively working to overcome this, and my efforts are starting to show. The courage to stay true to myself has allowed me to share my story publicly—not just once, but three times, culminating in a memorable “Oprah Winfrey” moment with first-gen freshmen and transfers during my college years. I had the opportunity to guide a discussion with the Texas Tech University Honors College Dean and a room full of people eager to understand a challenging life phase.
