Dignitana has received a Notice of Allowance from the Korean Intellectual Property Office for a patent titled “Scalp Cooling Apparatus, Method and System.” Patent Application No. 10-2021-7017704 was submitted in 2021 and approved 31 December 2024. This filing expands on the previous Korean patent obtained by Dignitana in 2014 which was based on technology in Dignitana’s legacy C3 DigniCap scalp cooling system. “Dignitana's IP portfolio provides a broad protection for our scalp cooling technology. We have an active IP strategy and have consistently worked to acquire rights in priority markets. Fantastic news for #NewYork #cancer patients and #oncologists! New York Governor Kathy Hochul has signed a bill to provide #insurance coverage for #scalpcooling systems used to preserve hair during #chemotherapy treatment for cancer. The act will take effect January 1, 2026. With this legislation (A38-A/S2063-A), New York becomes the first state in the U.S. to require private health insurers to provide coverage for these devices. The bill, sponsored by Linda B. Rosenthal in the State Assembly and Toby Stavitsky in the State Senate, was passed unanimously in both houses of the New York Legislature in June of this year.
