?? Celebrating One Year of Innovation and Collaboration at the DTC! ?? Friday, Nov 8th, marked the first anniversary of the Digital Transformation Center, and we couldn’t be prouder of the community we’re building! A fantastic turnout of more than 100 attendees joined us for our celebration, enjoying an atmosphere of excitement and possibility. We showcased incredible student demos from the University of Dayton, Ohio University, and the University of Cincinnati, including highlighting advanced work in cutting-edge drones, robotics, MBSE, VR, and animatronic engineering. Special thanks to our speakers-Sukh Sidhu, UDRI Vice President, Dave Dunn, UDRI Director of Innovation, Initiatives, and Collaboration, Kyle Hurst, Department of the Air Force Digital Transformation Office Chief, Scott Miller, Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering & Technology Associate Dean for Industry Partnerships and Outreach, Jason Jolley, Ohio University Associate Vice President for Research & Creative Activity, and our own DTC Director, Stacie Hoelscher—for sharing their insights, thanks, and support. Immersive Technology Took Center Stage at the Varjo VR Demo Event The DTC recently hosted an exciting Virtual Reality Demo featuring the Varjo mixed reality headsets, bringing the latest in immersive technology to our community. This exclusive event gave participants a firsthand experience with advanced VR systems. Attendees were impressed by the capabilities of the Varjo headsets, which showcased incredible visual precision and realism. From exploring virtual environments to interacting with complex simulations, participants caught a glimpse of the future of VR-powered innovation. The event drew many attendees, all eager to experience the cutting-edge tech. Guests discussed real-world applications, such as virtual training, prototyping, and collaborative simulations within their respective industries. Megan took on the challenge of an engine diagnostic during her turn. After just a few minutes of instruction, she was ready to dive headfirst into an engine. With the power of VR, she seamlessly moved parts and explored every section of the engine in incredible detail. As the Digital Transformation Center continues its mission to serve as a hub for collaboration, we are proud to provide access to events like this that inspire new ideas and promote digital innovation. From the moment the demo began, it was clear that LaunchPad isn’t just another set of tools—it’s a dynamic, real-time collaboration hub that breaks down silos and inspires innovation across teams. Attendees were impressed by its potential for cross-service engagement, seeing firsthand how it fosters seamless teamwork to tackle complex challenges. After the demo, the energy stayed high with a spirited round of Air Force trivia, where things got competitive—the night wrapped up with some friendly nostalgia as a few attendees took turns playing classic Frogger.
