Hello friends! It's here! I'm delighted to introduce you to a new podcast about the intersection of artificial intelligence and literacy: Future Fluent, FutureFluent.net, cohosted by the marvelous Dr. Jeremy Roschelle (Digital Promise) and me. Here’s the backstory: A year ago or so, Jeremy and I started sharing ideas about developments in AI. I loved the questions that Jeremy was asking: He starts with students. What was it going to mean to learn in this digital environment? When would AI speed things up? When would it slow students down? Would they like virtual tutors more–or less–than human teachers? As for me, well, I wanted to know how human writers would learn the instincts and nuances of story telling if AI was nudging them along. Wasn’t part of the agony of writing – late nights and smudgy drafts – the building blocks of dazzling insights? Our list of questions grew. And that made us eager to reach out to others, people deeply involved with teaching, writing and learning to hear their thoughts, predictions and, frankly, cautions. Now we’re thrilled to invite you to be part of the exploration. We aim to release one podcast a week. Share your thoughts on our LinkedIN page here or drop us a note at [email protected] – and yes, be assured that we’re reading every single comment. All points of view are welcome. I do believe that as we talk and share our perspectives, we can collectively build our instincts, reinforce our values and learn. We hope you listen the podcast, weigh in, and share it with others. (And yes, it's on itunes and spotify.) Can’t wait to hear from you! #AI, #education, #learning, #edtech, #writing
