#DPA is very pleased to support an EU to South Korea Study Visit, to strengthen Cybersecurity Skills & Education cooperation as part of the EU-ROK Digital Partnership! The global cybersecurity skills gap is a pressing challenge that demands international collaboration. As cyber threats evolve, so must our ability to train and equip cybersecurity professionals. The 1st EU-South Korea Cybersecurity Skills & Higher Education Study Visit is taking place from March 10-13, 2025, in South Korea, as part of the Digital Partnerships in Action (DPA) project. This initiative aligns with the EU-ROK Digital Partnership, strengthening cooperation between the EU and South Korea. During the first day of the visit representatives of several EU Member States had the pleasure to meet the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Maria Castillo Fernandez and colleagues from the Government of ROK and EU Diplomatic missions to ROK. ?? What’s the Goal of the Visit? This study visit is a unique opportunity to: ? Exchange knowledge on cybersecurity education models between the EU and South Korea. ? Explore public-private partnerships in cybersecurity training and skills development. ? Address the global cybersecurity skills shortage by building sustainable capacity-building strategies. ? Establish a roadmap for future EU-ROK collaboration in higher education and workforce development. ?? Key Highlights of the Visit ?? Meetings with Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), KAIST, BoB, NCSC, KISIA, and Pangyo Techno Valley. ?? Thematic Workshop on cybersecurity skills development & curriculum modernisation. ?? Networking sessions with top cybersecurity experts, government officials, and industry leaders. ?? Knowledge-sharing on AI-driven threat detection, quantum encryption, and public-private partnerships ?? Why This Matters? Cyber threats don’t stop at borders, and neither should our efforts to strengthen cybersecurity resilience. By learning from South Korea’s cutting-edge cybersecurity initiatives, EU stakeholders will gain insights to enhance their own national strategies. This study visit represents a concrete step toward international collaboration in cybersecurity education, ensuring that Europe and Korea remain at the forefront of digital security innovation. ??
