This past weekend I had a great time exploring Portland, Maine! The highlight was grabbing tacos at Terlingua Restaurant & Market, where I saw this awesome mural. I thought it would look cool on a custom glass, so I uploaded the pic I took to our software, and within minutes, I had this glass! We are very excited to join forces with Watershed, Canva, and their print partners on this co-funded VPPA solar project in Illinois to bring clean power to the local communities and reduce our Scope 2 print emissions. This project is an extraordinary effort to reduce the carbon footprint being emitted from supply chain and we are proud of our commitment to sustainability. ?? The thing that keeps our corporate sustainability teams up at night is their Scope 3 emissions - the carbon footprint of their supply chain. On average these are more than 10x a company's direct emissions. Few have managed to tackle this effectively. But now Watershed has a solution. I'm THRILLED to announce that Watershed customer Canva and its print supply partners (Blooming Color Brook + Whittle RPI Print Taylor Corporation Digital On Demand Printing) are taking direct action on scope 3 by collectively supporting a portfolio of new community solar projects. These projects will bring new clean power onto the grid and reduce electricity bills for low income families in the community. The projects' outputs will reduce Canva's suppliers' scope 2 emissions, in turn reducing Canva's scope 3. Canva's work puts them among the elite climate programs like Apple and Walmart who have succeeded at this. I can't stress enough how impactful the Canva team has been here, especially Mike Williams Emma R. Jim Towle and Cameron Adams. They are setting an example for how other companies can solve their biggest climate challenge. High impact, fixed price clean power that benefits the community.
