The Digital Energy Council recently submitted comments to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy to help inform their decision making. As society becomes increasingly digital, technological advancements can only progress as far as the energy foundation upon which they are built. Key Recommendations: ??Reform interconnection queues to address growing energy demands of AI and HPC. ??Promote a pro-innovation, pro-business regulatory environment to foster technology advancements. ??Leverage AI and HPC to enhance energy infrastructure through improved grid management, predictive maintenance, and optimized energy usage. ???Encourage partnerships between government, industry, and academia to accelerate innovation and strengthen the U.S. digital energy landscape. The Digital Energy Council supports the AI and Energy Working Group, led by Representative Julie Fedorchak and her recently released Request for Information (RFI) seeks to gather gather input from stakeholders on the energy demands of AI and policy solutions to ensure reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy access. The RFI requests input on three critical pillars: ? Securing Adequate Power Supply: Identifying solutions to meet the projected surge in energy consumption driven by AI data centers. ?? Grid Security: Developing strategies to safeguard the power grid from cyber and physical threats while integrating new energy resources. ?? AI Leadership: Ensuring the United States maintains a competitive edge in the global AI landscape.
