Digital Dynamics Partners with UCSC Society of Women Engineers to Empower Future Female Leaders Santa Cruz, CA – October 24, 2024: Digital Dynamics, Inc. (DDI) proudly collaborated with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) at the University of California, Santa Cruz, to host an evening of inspiration, networking and community engagement. We are thankful for Victoria Ojukwu, SWE chapter president for inviting DDI to meet a group of our female professionals and explore themes of resilience, mentorship and positive self talk. As a local company rooted in the Santa Cruz community, DDI is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment and investing in the next generation of engineers. “It’s crucial for us to support young talent in our area and create spaces where women feel empowered to thrive in their careers,” said Jessyca Hallett, MSOD Hallett, Chief HR Officer at DDI. Central to the event was a discussion on resilience—how to overcome challenges and persist in a competitive industry. Drawing on ideas from the book Lean In for graduates, by Sheryl Sandberg,?DDI members, Danielle Laganiere and Teresa F. shared their own stories of personal and professional growth, offering actionable advice for attendees. A reflection activity gave students a chance to journal about their challenges and identify the strategies that helped them succeed. ? In addition to resilience-focused discussions, the event featured interactive skill-building sessions. These exercises allowed participants to practice reframing negative self-talk into positive affirmations, equipping them with tools to maintain a confident mindset in their studies and careers. Our goal is to inspire women at the start of their engineering journeys and show them that success is possible with persistence and a strong support network. Digital Dynamics Inc. (DDI) hosted an Introduction to Software Engineering session?at Scotts Valley High School (SVHS). Collaborating with the Coding Club and advanced math students was a fantastic experience for all involved! At DDI, we are deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of tech talent. This event showcased our passion for community engagement, where we shared valuable insights into software engineering and introduced students to our talented engineers, Danielle Laganiere (class of 2022), Arthur Weimholt (class of 2023), and Matthew Zurlin (class of 2022) all UCSC graduates who provided relatable insights into their own career journeys. A special thank you to Prathik Kurella, SVHS Coding Club President, and Mr. Postovit for their hard work in organizing this event and expanding participation to students interested in engineering. The thoughtful questions from the juniors and seniors sparked meaningful discussions about the skills and experiences essential for a successful career in Software Engineering and at DDI. We believe that this kind of engagement is crucial for inspiring young minds and fostering a vibrant tech community.
