Three months after hopping on DispensaryMate, our client’s customers went from shopping once a month to 3.4x. Here’s what made the difference... - They made buying a breeze and an enjoyable experience - Smart upsells during checkout - They stayed on their customer's radar with personalized push notifications & exclusive deals kept them coming back. Sometimes the smallest changes can give the biggest payoff! Happy to chat strategy, just send me a message.

I say this all the time on meetings, so might as well put it here... We’re always making the app better—tweaking the design, leveling up the user experience, diving into data, and dialing in new engagement tactics. Dispensary apps and mobile sales strategies don’t go stale with us. Ever. And with 2.0 rolling out, dispensaries should be real excited for what’s coming!!!

Alright as promised yesterday, let’s break down how one of our partners in Ohio did a dang good job getting customers on their app....and keeping ‘em there: 1. They never stopped promoting it. The app’s all over their website, with easy links straight to the download page. 2. On-site activations that gave insane ROI They ran a solid promo--trade a simple merch for a download. That pulled in a nearly $100 average order total per customer. 3. Got their best customers on board. By catching ‘em both online and in-store, they built an audience that actually wants those push notifications and deals. 4. Staff pushes the app hard. And for good reason—it’s just a way better experience. 5. They play it smart with deals. Flash promos, timed just right. That kept people coming back. Lastly, we’re in it with them. Helping their teams read their data, tweak engagement and get the most out of the app—like timing push notifications better or boosting cart conversions with stuff they already got. When we build an app, we don’t just hand it off and say, “Good luck.” ?? That’s not how this works.

We just sent one of our dispensary partners their 90-day report since launch and their user retention rate’s in the high 90s. We initially thought, no way this can’t be real. But nah, their data didn't lie. In the app world, the first 90 days is crucial. That’s when you see if an app’s got real staying power or if people just forget about it eventually. Their churn’s only less than 10% which means 90+% of users are still checking out deals, placing orders or at least opening push notifications. Cause even after the launch hype died down, they stuck around. How’d they pull that off? I’ll spill tomorrow.

We’ve had countless conversations with partners, clients, and industry friends, and when we ask how they survive in such a cutthroat space like c@nn@bis, we hear the same thing… Focus on your 20% because they drive 80% of your business. Sounds simple, but it’s real easy to slip up!!! Like throwing out discounts based on gut feel instead of inventory or market preference. Or blasting generic messages instead of tailoring them to the right customers. As our friends at Happy Cabbage says.... to really make it in this industry, you’ve got to operate EFFICIENTLY by using data to make the right calls and really prioritize customer retention.

We take a dispensary's old app and make it better. 1000x better.
Their customers said...."We don’t want it like the other app." -- Just wanted to share a mini case study on one of our awesome partners, Amplify in Ohio who absolutely crushed their app rollout and got customers excited about online ordering. They had an app before, but it wasn’t hitting the mark. When they decided to scrap it and start fresh with us, their customers kept asking when the new one would be ready. But this time, they had one clear request: "Don't make it like the other app." So, with a kickass collaboration between their team and ours at Digital Awesome, we reimagined their mobile experience from the ground up...and we freakin’ delivered (their words, not mine! lol) In 90 days, they: - Got their staff’s complete buy-in, ensuring their team fully adopted the app and advocated for it during in-store interactions and thru their email newsletters. - Onboarded 9.5K+ app users and maintained an average 97% retention rate from November to date. - Drove 25-30% of total store sales through the mobile app. - Built genuine anticipation and interest—customers are now asking for more app interactions and push notifications. - Achieved an average online basket size of $96.78 per app order. - Saw 55% of all orders come in as preorders from the app, just shy of their 60% goal. And the best feedback we got from them: "I don't know if we can ask for anything better. We’re so limited by Ohio's rules and regs, and it's frustrating, but it's also given us the opportunity to take smaller-sized chunks out of the app at a time. Working with Alexander Stevens is fantastic—I really appreciate his time on biweekly check-ins. And Mark Nelson pops in every once in a while. It's nice knowing that if we have an ops problem that pops up, we now have Digital Awesome as a partner with a potential solution." Hope you find value in this success story. We’re truly proud of the work we do here to help dispensaries offer the best mobile experience possible.
