Fostering STEM passion in youth by providing science and technology contents
关于我们
Digital Age Academy (DAA) is a 501(c)(3) educational technology non-profit that prepares youth for the future of work by delivering online project-based digital and entrepreneurial development programs in technology-related and artificial intelligence-oriented fields. DAA programs are geared towards preparing creative, agentive, and flexible leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs through mastery of self-regulated learning and development. This is achieved through offering professional mentorship to groups of youth to identify, define and find solutions for problems in their community, potentially resulting in new businesses or startups. DAA operates in four different stages: Ideation, Project, Incubator, and Accelerator. Practical social and technical skills are implemented at each stage to prepare a skilled workforce for various technology sectors and to train future tech entrepreneurs and innovators. All stages are conducted under the mentorship of professionals from the respective industries with a one-on-one interaction.

We’re proud of the incredible learning opportunities in our BU Questrom MSBA program! Check out this inspiring session with Azadeh Keivani and Guillermo Kardolus, where our students gained valuable insights into data science and real-world applications. Thank you, Professor Mohammad Soltanieh-ha, for organizing and sharing this enriching experience. #questrommeansbusiness #questrommsba #businessanalytics #datascience Questrom School of Business, Boston University
?? Grateful to have had two phenomenal guest speakers in our MSBA Business Analytics Toolbox class on Friday! ?? We welcomed Azadeh Keivani, Physicist, Data Scientist, and co-founder of Digital Age Academy Inc., and Guillermo Kardolus, Senior Staff Engineer at Cloudera, marathoner, and astrophysicist. Azadeh and Guillermo introduced us to Citizen Science, a new series of thought-provoking short films tackling data and real-world impact. Guillermo, the special guest of the first episode, provides his data science insights on Citi Bike’s dock optimization challenge in New York and Brooklyn. They shared their journey in data science and software engineering and also provided valuable advice on identifying "interesting" data problems and sharpening skills for today’s business analytics and data-driven job market. With AI reshaping the landscape, their guidance on the essential blend of technical and creative thinking couldn’t be more timely. Key takeaways for aspiring data professionals: 1?? Define your project by integrating prior knowledge and personal curiosity. 2?? Explore published work and fresh perspectives to inspire meaningful questions. 3?? Approach data with a "neighborhood mindset" to think deeply about specific issues. 4?? Dive beyond the surface for a true understanding of the data problem. Thank you, Azadeh and Guillermo, for sharing your insights and experiences with our students at BU Questrom MSBA! And thank you to my students for bringing your energy and great questions to this lecture! ?? Check out Citizen Science: A Symphony of Human Power - Episode 1: Citi Bikes for a unique look into how data can drive community impact: https://lnkd.in/eGx3EC7r ??? [Attached is my attempt at capturing a hybrid lecture in action! Still working on this skill, but thrilled to share a snapshot of this engaging session.] #DataScience #BusinessAnalytics #CitizenScience #AI #BU #Questrom #QuestromMeansBusiness #CitiBike

?? One of the key questions a data analyst has about a project on real-life issues is?"How do I even start with this project?" Here we have Citizen Science, an exceptional initiative by Azadeh Keivani, co-founder of Digital Age Academy Inc.. ?? Citizen Science is a series of short films where one can explore data-centric topics about real-life challenges. ???A Symphony of Human Power: Citi Bikes?is the first episode of this series, where Azadeh introduces Guillermo Kardolus, who shares his experience tackling the Citi Bike dock optimization project in NYC. Guillermo and Azadeh dive into the challenges of finding parking spots for Citi Bikes, especially in high-demand areas, which inspired him to analyze the number of bikes, e-bikes, broken docks, and bike occupation rates in Red Hook, NYC. ? The insights in this episode are exceptional and a must-watch for data enthusiasts! Their advice on selecting meaningful data problems and developing relevant skills is a timely reminder of the value of continuous growth in analytics. ?? Here’s the link to the episode:?https://lnkd.in/dwP8mUe3 Looking forward to episode 2??, Azadeh Keivani!

Today, I had a unique experience in my MSBA program at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. In our BA775 class, we watched a thought-provoking film from Digital Age Academy Inc. that tackled Citi Bike’s dock optimization challenge in New York and Brookline. I left feeling truly inspired by the industry insights shared by our guest lecturers(Azadeh Keivani and Guillermo Kardolus), who were incredibly open in answering my favorite question to ask anyone in data: “What really makes a problem interesting?” Here are my key takeaways for that questions: 1. When something piques your interest, start by defining the project and integrating what you already know. 2. Explore others' work on platforms like towardsdatascience.com—you may discover that “Aha!” moment that sparks an interesting question. 3. Draw foundational insights from scientific papers and fresh perspectives from sources like The New York Times. 4. Think deeply about neighborhoods to cultivate a habit of “data-thinking.” 5. And finally, go beyond existing answers to dive deeper and gain a true understanding of the problem. And of course, a huge thanks to Professor Mohammad Soltanieh-ha for coordinating this experience, which underscores Questrom’s commitment to blending theory with real-world practice. Excited for more learning ahead! https://lnkd.in/geekRWvN
