Digi-Bridge, a federally recognized nonprofit, works at the nexus of technology and education. The organization believes the “digital divide,” a reality that affords only some students with the access needed in order to be successful in an ever-changing global economy, exacerbates the country’s achievement gap. Digi-Bridge employs a three-pronged approach to address digital access: Advocacy: Digi-Bridge uses a community-organizing model to ignite conversation and action within neighborhoods. Digital needs are always changing and the organization believes it’s imperative to develop leaders within each community who can advocate on behalf of our students. Consultancy: Digi-Bridge provides educational institutions with affordable digital classroom design consultancy. Courses: Digi-Bridge offers students opportunities to engage in hands-on, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) learning experiences outside of the classroom.

I am thrilled to share that Brick by Brick, our Digi-Bridge robotics competition team had an incredible experience at the FLL Robotics Competition on Saturday, November 16th! Competing in the NC Qualifier for the 2024-2025 FIRST LEGO League Challenge, these talented students put their creativity, hard work, and collaborative spirit on full display. We are proud to announce that Brick by Brick was awarded the Motivate Award, recognizing their enthusiasm, team spirit, and dedication to inspiring others. This achievement reflects countless hours of practice, learning, and perseverance from each team member. A huge congratulations to our students for their outstanding performance, and thank you to everyone—My co-coach Taylor Pikes, parents,funders, and supporters—who contributed to making this journey possible. We love partnering with Classroom Central to make STEM education more immersive and more accessible to students!
How do we make STEM education more immersive for students? By giving teachers access to cutting-edge tools like the Merge Cube! This newest addition to our STEM Lending Library, provided by Duke Energy Corporation, allows students to hold nearly “anything” in their hands—from 3D models of the solar system to a human skeleton—bringing lessons to life in a whole new way that aids in maximum learning retention. Today, the team from Digi-Bridge is here in the Free Store, showing teachers how this tool can inspire discovery in their classrooms just in time for National STEM Day. Please join us in welcoming Samantha Kowert, MBA as our new Vice President of Advancement!?Samantha joined our team last week and we are thrilled to have her working with us. She'll serve as a strategic leader for our team overseeing all aspects of fundraising and donor engagement to drive forward our mission. Samantha brings more than a decade of experience in leading fundraising initiatives and strategic planning. She's previously served in development leadership roles for the South Carolina Aquarium, the Anne Springs Close Greenway, United Way of Greater Charlotte, and Blumenthal Arts.
