How can we ensure that everyone in America has access to specialized, dietitian-led care? Our #HealLA 2024 cohort member Dietitians for a Healthier America (DHA) is pioneering advocacy for the vital role of #dietitians in the nation's health landscape. DHA works tirelessly to expand access to dietitian-led care, advocating for policy reforms that improve insurance reimbursements and emphasizing the importance of early dietary interventions. ?? Julian Espinosa, Vice Chair Board of Directors, shares his passion for the mission: "Driven by my personal health journey and professional experiences, I am dedicated to enhancing the visibility and impact of dietitians. I believe in their critical role in not just healing but fundamentally improving how people engage with their health and nutrition on a global scale." DHA's commitment goes beyond individual consultations; they aim to fundamentally improve health outcomes through education, advocacy, and policy reform. By focusing on the long-term implications of dietary habits, DHA is dedicated to fostering a healthier future for all Americans. We are proud to support Dietitians for a Healthier America and their dedication to improving health through better nutrition and dietitian-led care. ?? 1 in 6 adults in the US experience constipation.. Why? Poop is taboo here in the US and that's keeping us unhealthy! The typical American diet, characterized by low fiber intake, heavy reliance on caffeine, skipping breakfast, and a scarcity of fermented foods, plays a significant role in digestive issues. These dietary patterns, combined with insufficient hydration and physical activity, can disrupt normal bowel function, leading to constipation. If you're not having a bowel movement at least once per day, there could be an underlying issue to address! In our latest podcast episode, we explore how the American diet contributes to widespread constipation with Emily Luxford, MS RD IFNCP CLT
