In B2B, it comes down to two things -- Save the customer time or money. Do both and you really have something special. I believe we now have that solution for OEM dealers. At TMC, we made a joint announcement with Decisiv, Inc. that explains where this starts. I also need to explain where it is going. If you aren't familiar with Decisiv, they are used at over 5,000 dealer locations and have had over 33 million case files created in their system over the years. Its the communication tool of choice between dealers and fleets. Dealers will now be able to use our diagnostic tools to perform a vehicle health report. This contains vehicle data (VIN, odometer, major sensor data, & fault codes) and will automatically creates a case in Decisiv. This allows greater visibility for both the truck owner & repair shop to see what is going on with the vehicle. What comes next is even bigger -- Automatic creation of repair orders in various dealer software system. No more pen/paper write ups & no more dual entry/mistakes. A simple, digital experience. Then the next step happens, which is where the magic really starts to occur. Here is some examples: ??Truck needs an oil change? We'll list out the filters automatically needed. ??Check engine light on? No need to connect again, we'll provide automatic step-by-step troubleshooting steps, with potential part #'s needed in the repair. ??Need a quote on a repair? Our integrated labor time guides will display it with a click. The list goes on and on. This is about connecting diagnostic tools, repair information, parts information, and making it a seamless digital experience that saves time and money for everyone. This also starts us down the road of a true pre & post scan experience for HD, which has never been done and sorely needed. This show will always be special to me. It was here 10 years ago that we landed our first major customer. Up until that point we had never sold more then one unit to a customer. This customer purchased 26, but more importantly, it validated to me that we had something special going on. It’s also amazing walking around meeting people who only know me from LinkedIn. For all of you that came up and introduced yourself, a huge “thank you” for following me, sharing your stories, and supporting what we are doing at Diesel Laptops. The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) of American Trucking Associations, Inc. does much more then an expo. It’s where the industry comes together to collaborate, share, set industry standards, and help diesel technicians.
