The college journey is more than just a piece of paper. ?? Institutions lead the way in ?????????????????? medicine, science, and civilization as a whole. Yet, some students have been conditioned to see college as merely a stepping stone to a higher paying job. This thinking undermines our legacy as leaders and stifles the possibilities we create for future generations. The quality of life tomorrow is determined by the quality of leadership today. One day our students will carry that burden for the next generation, and it is up to us to prepare them. Presenting the value proposition of college merely as a way to earn more is doing a disservice?to what higher education has made possible for us for thousands of years.? Ignoring the bigger picture dims potential. Here’s the reality: ????????Only 27% of graduates use their degree in their current field. ????????Student retention rates hover around 66%, leaving over a third to drop out. ?????? ???????????????????? ?????? ???????????????????? ???? ?????????? ???????????????? ???? ?????? ???? ?????? ???????????????? ????????????. Without it, society loses a spark. So what now? Embrace the true mission of college; building the leaders of the future. Here is how they do that on college campuses:? ????????Seek knowledge beyond the classroom. ????????Strive to innovate and lead change. ????????Carry forward the legacy of advancement. ????????Inspire others to think bigger. By valuing education, we fuel the future. We create the future trailblazers. Let’s redefine college beyond the degree. Think impact, not just income. Your actions matter. Your choices will shape civilization for generations. What legacy will you leave? Connect with peers. Share your vision. Lead by example. Let’s restore the true purpose of education. What’s stopping your organization from reaching its full potential? It’s not a lack of strategy. ? It’s not resources. ? It’s not even competition. It’s the hesitation to take bold first steps. We’ve all felt it—that internal debate saying, “Let’s wait until conditions are perfect. Let’s get more data. Let’s be sure.” But here’s the truth: Waiting doesn’t eliminate risk. It eliminates opportunity. As Karen Lamb said, “A year from now, you’ll wish you had started today.” A McKinsey survey found that only 20% of organizations excel at decision-making, meany MANY MORE are wasting time on ineffective processes. In business, overthinking can be just as costly as underpreparing. Delayed decisions stall growth, weaken morale, and give competitors the edge. The solution isn’t perfection. It’s momentum. Want to lead with impact? ? - Choose based on the available information. Bold decisions rarely come wrapped in guarantees. ? - Break initiatives into actionable steps your team can rally around. ? - Embrace discomfort as a signal of growth, not risk. Courageous leadership isn’t about avoiding mistakes. It’s about having the clarity to act despite them. Your organization’s future depends on the choices you make today. So, what’s the one decision you’ve been holding back on? Because the perfect time? It doesn’t exist. Your move. ? #TransformationalLeadership #ExecutiveDecisions #BusinessGrowth

Why are you here? I’ll tell you why I’m here. Because you are sitting in a seat with a unique opportunity in front of you. An opportunity to solve the problems my generation failed to fix. We’re living in a time when the stakes are high, and the future is in your hands. You, the future leaders, are inheriting the world we leave behind. And here’s the harsh truth: Every problem one generation fails to solve, they doom the next to inherit. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Rising inequality ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Climate change ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Political division ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Technological disruption These are the challenges you’ll face, and they’re not going away unless we face them head-on. The clock is ticking. The question isn’t, “Why are you here?” It’s, “What are you going to do about it?” As the legendary Mandela said, “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” So I’m asking you now: Will you do it? Will you step up? Or will you let the next generation bear the burden? This is your moment. Take action. Change the course of the future. What if I told you only 5% of leaders are willing to change their minds, even when presented with hard data? This resistance isn’t just stubbornness; it’s a psychological barrier that even the best leaders face. In my TEDx talk, I explored why we resist change and how this impacts our ability to lead effectively. Imagine being in a room full of leaders, each confident in their answer. Then, one question flips everything. It’s a powerful reminder of how deeply personal experiences can shape our choices, often beyond reason or data. Through a social experiment with leaders across different industries, I discovered that ‘productive conflict’ isn’t just valuable—it’s essential for real progress. When leaders allow themselves to engage in meaningful disagreement, they open doors to growth, innovation, and new solutions. So, what would it look like if we embraced conflict instead of avoiding it? If leadership is the cure, maybe it’s time to make it contagious. Watch the talk(link in comments) to see why challenging your perspective might just be the key to better leadership. #TedxTalk #TedTalk #leadership

Disruption, discomfort, and discontent — the Three Ds are natural reactions to big organizational change. But they don’t have to be obstacles. When implementing a new vision or strategy, people experience disruption to their usual way of working, which leads to discomfort and ultimately discontent. This resistance and sense of unease comes from the human instinct for security: we avoid the unknown in favor of stability. But when you see the Three Ds as opportunities, rather than barriers to be avoided, you can turn them into keys for driving transformation. ?? From graduating high school in the bottom 25%... to failing out of college... to speaking on **Good Morning Washington** and transforming freshmen seminars AND C-Suite executives. Here’s the truth: As a student, I was stuck. I felt like the world was happening to me, not for me. And yet, here I am, proving that where you start doesn’t define where you can go. I went from being a student who struggled to find my way, to helping freshmen in seminars take ownership of their journey and guiding top-level executives through transformations that ripple through entire organizations. This didn’t happen overnight. It was through **transformational leadership**—the kind that starts with self-awareness and ends with impacting the world. If you can transform yourself, you can transform one other person. If you can transform one person, you can transform a team. If you can transform a team, you can transform an organization. If you can transform an organization, you can transform a community. If you can transform a community, you can change the world. As I am reflecting on my past, I started thinking about my Good Morning Washington Interview, and that’s what I’ve dedicated my career to—empowering others to realize the power of transformation at every level. Failures and setbacks are not roadblocks; they’re stepping stones. The only limit is how deeply you’re willing to look within and how boldly you’re willing to act. What’s one challenge you overcame that transformed your journey? #TransformationalLeadership #PersonalGrowth #LeadershipExcellence

Oftentimes, conventional wisdom fails us. The idea that someone else walking a mile in your shoes would enable them to understand what you're dealing with is incomplete and insufficient. Yet, leaders often go through the exercise of understanding the needs of their people through this lens. We go through the mental exercise, still don't understand, and use that as justification to make the other person wrong. We use the conclusion that the other person is wrong to justify doing things the same, delivering the same results, and blaming the other person for those insufficient results. Instead, ask yourself, what would shoes would I have to wear on the feet that I have to generate the same the same response? And how desperately would I want to do something about that, if that were the case? In a professional context, this would mean asking yourself, what would have to happen to illicit this response from me? And if I were to generate this response, how hard would I expect others to work to resolve the issue? Then, it is your responsibility to work that hard. You will have to communicate your competing commitments that won't be compromised along the way, and whether you have the time or resources to resolve it in the fashion they are requesting. It may require you leveraging your authority to mobilize other team members who have the time or resources. At the end of the day, when a problem is presented to you, justifying inaction by making the other person wrong is a leadership deficiency that will inevitably reduce your impact as a leader, and the performance of your team as a result. #leadership #management #business #performance #conflictresolution
