At Diamonds Do Good, we believe in uplifting the communities where natural diamonds are found, ensuring they thrive long after the last diamond is mined. That’s why we developed the DDG Entrepreneurship Grants through United People Global, empowering entrepreneurs in diamond-producing countries and India, where 9 out of 10 diamonds are cut and polished. Since 2022, we’ve supported over 30 entrepreneurs who are transforming their communities by creating jobs, strengthening local economies, and making a positive global impact. One inspiring example is Zephania Zakayo from Tanzania, a medical laboratory technician and founder of Matella Medical Diagnostic Laboratory. Zephania is dedicated to bringing affordable, precise diagnostic services to underserved rural areas, ensuring communities have access to the healthcare they need without traveling long distances. Crafted by skilled Indian artisans in Surat—the world’s diamond capital—it took over 3,700 minutes of meticulous planning and effort to bring this vision to life.
