关于我们
The Diabetes Coalition of York County was formed in February 2017, after several agencies and organizations in York County recognized the need for diabetes awareness and educational efforts within the region. The coalition has received multiple grants from the York County Community Foundation’s Hahn Home Fund for Embracing Aging and the Edgar I. Garrett Diabetes Fund. The grant dollars have funded the development of a bilingual Diabetes Resource Guide, several Diabetes Expos, free A1c testing events, local research projects, and this website's development. The Diabetes Coalition of York County is committed to advocacy, awareness, empowerment, and prevention.

Trying to manage your blood sugar can be challenging, especially if you start feeling hungry between meals. Unfortunately, this can lead to snacking, often times with the wrong types of foods that can lead to a higher blood sugar. Try adding some vegetables to your mealtimes... or have some already precut and ready to snack on in case you start to feel those rumbles in your stomach between meals. Picking up some fresh cut cucumber spears, or maybe some sweet pepper strips along with some hummus or cottage cheese can be the healthier option over grabbing a couple cookies or a bag of chips.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, most adults need at least 7 hours of sleep each night. However, more than 1 in 3 American adults say they don't get the recommended amount of sleep. While this may be fine for a day or two, not getting enough sleep over time can lead to serious health problems—and make certain health problems worse. Learn more in this article from the Centers for Disease Control. Then set a goal to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night and see it help with your heart health year round! https://lnkd.in/ggSfafGq
