The first Video Relay Service (VRS) device for virtual communication services was premiered at the World’s Fair in 1964. From then and through the early 2000’s, the idea was improved upon, but not accepted primarily due to cost and availability. In 2002, video services were developed for the Deaf population. ? We are Kailie and Dina, co-creators of a small company that places state certified Deaf Educators with districts or charters in need of services. We base our services on the student needs per their IEP. Services are offered virtually, unless location permits a hybrid option. Our goal is to serve the students that are often the only one or one of only a few students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in their school or district by matching them with an educator whose skill set meets the communication needs of that student. For example, if your student primarily uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate, we will match them with a teacher proficient in ASL and the development of visual language. If they have devices, like a hearing aid or cochlear implant, we'll match them with a listening and spoken language specialist who is highly knowledgeable in device troubleshooting and the development of spoken language skills. Depending on the student's age, needs, and IEP, we offer consultation only or direct services.? ? A quick overview of services we provide: -Direct instruction in topics surrounding deaf ed, such as: self-advocacy skills, hearing device wear and care, listening and language or visual language development, understanding rights and law (IEP, 504, IDEA, ADA), emergency procedures -Consultation services for general ed teachers, ESE teachers, other relevant staff, and parents -Device troubleshooting -Audiological interpretation and eligibility? -IEP participation and documentation, including annual Communication Plan -Progress monitoring -Annual staff in-service If you'd like to set up a phone call or Google Meet to discuss the specific needs of your incoming student, we would be happy to schedule that. After learning a bit more about your specific needs, we can send you a contract proposal. Please us know your upcoming availability and preferred contact method. ? Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you, Kailie DuBois, MSDE & Dina Toschi, M.A. Ed. DHH Connect? Virtual Education for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Did you know that all the major educational contract companies staff professionals from 5-10 different fields? Meanwhile, we are specialists in Deaf Education ensuring that your students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing are receiving the highest quality of services. Unlike the big companies who help with staffing and then disappear, our teachers have our support throughout the school year to help them best meet your district's needs. This means that for the price of one educator, you actually get the support of a whole team! ?

Do you have students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing that require support with specialized instruction or consultation? Our highly qualified virtual Teachers for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing are ready and waiting to support YOUR students. Qualified providers are critical to a child’s success Without qualified staff and appropriate support services, the ability of children to achieve appropriate outcomes is jeopardized. (NASDSE, 2019) Including children with a unilateral hearing level Research indicates that even mild and/or unilateral (one ear only) hearing losses can cause language and cognitive delays, and can be correlated with academic failure (CDC, 2005). School personnel should be mindful to consider any level of hearing loss when determining a student’s eligibility.
