Massachusetts is once again having a critical conversation about the city’s infrastructure—this time in relation to the Tobin Bridge. Just as early discussions paved the way for the Big Dig, a new 18-month study will explore solutions to modernize this vital transportation link between Charlestown and Chelsea. And notably, the idea of moving the roadway underground remains on the table. While construction is still a long way off, this study marks the first step toward what could be another transformative project for the region.
