Data center rack density has doubled...and it's not even close to the densities we'll need for AI. Over the last 8 years, average power density for a datacenter rack has doubled from about 6 kW to 12 kW. However, with the spread of artificial intelligence and the latest GPUs from companies like NVIDIA, data center rack density is projected to not just double but to grow by 10-X or more in a few short years! These unprecedented power densities require an entirely new class of datacenter power systems to drive higher power densities, higher efficiency, and greater flexibility to manage changing power needs. Our communities in North Carolina have been among the hardest-hit by Hurricane Helene. Thousands of people lost power and shelter, and tragically, many also lost their lives.
