In 1926, the firm of Forster and Wernert was formed to provide engineering services to a variety of private and public sector clients. In subsequent years the firm grew, added surveying and architecture to the engineering disciplines offered to its clients, and changed its name many times as new partners came into the firm. In the 1950s, when the firm was known as Sanzenbacher, Miller and Brigham, its expertise in highway and bridge design led to a number of major projects with the Ohio Department of Transportation (then known as the Department of Highways), the Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission, and the Michigan Department of Transportation (Michigan State Highway Department). In the following years, the firm expanded into traffic/safety engineering, port and rail facility design, and site development. Our architectural practice was discontinued to focus on engineering, surveying and construction management aspects. The firm became known as Dansard Grohnke Long Limited, Ltd. in 1977 and operated under that name for close to thirty years. In 2006, the company became DGL Consulting Engineers, LLC. DGL continues to enjoy a successful civil engineering practice, and we are proud of our record of providing professional services to public and private sector clients continuously for nearly 100 years!

To create a safer environment for Summit Metro Park visitors to walk, run, and bike, DGL worked with the Park District at the Silver Creek and Munroe Falls parks to convert existing loop roads to one-way roads with a connected multi-use path. In particular, within Silver Creek Park the Pheasant Run Area crossing was relocated to provide a safer place for pedestrians to cross the Park’s eastern entrance road. ? DGL’s scope of work for both of the park’s paths included completing a field review of the existing conditions and providing guidance to Park District leaders. DGL prepared signing and pavement marking plans based off the initial concept plans that incorporated both OMUTCD standard and specialty Metro Parks signing. ?
