If you've ever been to a family reunion, you know how important it is to reconnect with the people who matter to you, encourage you, uplift your spirit, and motivate you to reach the next mountaintop. For me...that's the feeling I receive attending the #NOMA Conference, and this #NOMA2024 Conference in #Baltimore did not disappoint. When I joined #NOMA some years back, I found the resting place I had been searching for throughout my #architecture career. A community of diverse designers, some who share similar backgrounds, but all who share a common goal - to uplift, enrich, and promote the contributions of minorities in the design professions. It's amazing to hear the stories and backgrounds describing what brought us all to design, and the importance of the work that makes us stay. The #NOMA2024 Conference was filled with great sessions, events, tours, and opportunities to foster existing relationships and create new ones. The #eXchange was felt through the conference and even still a week removed from being in Baltimore. DFWNOMA represented well with 24 attendees making the trip from Dallas, and the #SouthRegion represented with over 180 attendees! I'm looking forward to how our local chapter continues to impact Dallas, and how #NOMA continues to impact the nation. We are #NOMAStrong and I'm already looking forward to reconnecting with my #design cousins in KC next year. The #South represented well and showed out with the Chapter of the Year NCNOMA, Five-star chapters SoFlo NOMA and NOMAtlanta, the BGL Student Design competition winner Tulane University and second place Kennesaw State University, as well as Louisiana State University being named Student Chapter of the Year, and Jennifer R. White being named Student of the Year! Only up from here! #NOMAStandUP #Architecture #Design #Mentorship #Advocacy #Collaboration #selfcare

I’m truly honored to be included among some of the brightest and sharpest young minds in the architecture industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. A heartfelt thank you to all my mentors who have unselfishly supported and guided me throughout my journey as a young architect. Special thanks to Marc Tolson at ARRIVE Architecture Group and to DFWNOMA for consistently providing opportunities for growth and development. Your continued encouragement and belief in me mean the world! Thank you to Metropolis Magazine for an amazing event! #ARCH30
Our Project Architect, Jeremy Mano was recently?nominated for Metropolis Magazine’s Arch 30 in Dallas. The event celebrates 30 of the brightest young architects and designers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. During the sessions, attendees explored a wide range of topics, including diversity, equity, and inclusion in architecture, and ways to advocate for underrepresented ethnicities and genders. They also discussed the rapid and gradual changes within the field. Jeremy’s small group discussed the importance of aligning the lifecycle of our designs with the sustainability of the materials we choose as architects and future architects.
