? Breaking Down Barriers: Hair Discrimination and the Path to Inclusion ? In this recent article, a Black woman shared her experience of facing microaggressions at work when colleagues touched her natural Afro hair without permission. This is a reminder that, despite progress, there's still a long way to go to end discrimination and microaggressions, even when it comes to hair. ????♀? The DFW Black MBAs have been proud supporters of the Crown Act, advocating for the protection of Black individuals against hair discrimination in schools and workplaces. We were thrilled when the Texas Senate passed House Bill 567 supporting the Crown Act last year, yet we recognize that our work is far from over. True inclusion requires continuous education, awareness, and empathy. ?????? As we celebrate Global Diversity Awareness Month, let’s reflect on how we can all contribute to a more inclusive and respectful workplace. Have you ever used negative experiences at work to fuel a new passion or purpose? Share your story with us in the comments and let’s inspire one another to keep pushing for progress! ?????????? #GlobalDiversityAwarenessMonth #CrownAct #InclusionMatters #DFWBlackMBAs #HairDiscrimination #DiversityAndInclusion #Microaggressions
