DFBA delegates attended the U.S. Technical Advisory Group (#USTAG) meeting in Brisbane, Australia to represent United States Department of Defense interests on a proposed international standard, ISO Forensic Science 21043. #DFBA Standards Branch serves as the DoD Primary Forensic Standards voting member and additionally serves as the ISO Liaison Officer between SC 37 Biometrics and TC 272 Forensics. ISO/TC 272 reflects the standardization and guidance in Forensic Science. These documents set the standard for recovery, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of #forensic science techniques and methodologies and will serve as the starting point for greater #interoperability in the future. All parts of the ISO 21043 Forensic Sciences standard have moved on to publication. Congratulations to all involved, especially the heads of the US Technical Advisory Group and delegation, ANSI - American National Standards Institute, American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD), ANAB - ANSI National Accreditation Board, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), for all their hard work in accomplishing this monumental goal! #InternationalStandards #BeAllYouCanBe #Forensics #ForensicFriday

Today, we’re honored to recognize a remarkable Lifetime of Service as we salute Ms. Rachel Borhauer. Ms. Borhauer began her journey over 30 years ago as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve, balancing her college studies with her early commissioning. She was among the first women to complete the US Army's integrated Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY—setting a powerful example in a newly integrated environment. Once on active duty, Ms. Borhauer rose to First Lieutenant and was one of the only two women in her Field Artillery Officer Basic Course—all while balancing her roles as a wife and mother. She went on to serve with distinction on the Joint Task Force Headquarters staff in Haiti and later as a United States Military Academy at West Point instructor. Her career culminated as a Brigade Acquisition Officer in Afghanistan. She retired in 2012. Ms. Borhauer’s dedication didn’t end there. She continues to serve our Nation as a #USArmy civilian, currently leading as Chief of the Strategic Integration Division at #DFBA. Her story inspires us all—today and every day. #VeteransDay #LifeOfService #MilitaryPolice #PeopleFirst #ArmyStrong #BeAllYouCanBe
