I retired May 12th 2023. I now consider myself semi-retired, I now work as a Virtual Assistant. Have done payroll, invoicing and recruiting, plus other administrative duties. I work for/with a very sharp young lady, who is great at showing appreciation in the most descriptive ways. On Monday she told me that I was a “Beast” that’s a huge compliment. From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, I vetted 52 resumes and sent emails to all 52 from the quiet of my home office. By the end of the day 17 of those have already been scheduled for interviews. Yesterday saw another 20 interviews scheduled for a total of 37 interviews scheduled. Yeah! Of the 52 I only declined 5. Overall the resumes were really good; there is an excellent pool of candidates here in S.Florida. Lets see how many of them pass the interview process and not ghost us. I then went on to another project for another 2 hours. I was cross eyed ?????? at the end of the day, but need to be constantly engaged to keep my mind busy, if not it wanders down some strange lanes. I still enjoy wading through resumes. Not even in my Omni Hotel days did I ever review 52 resumes in one day; mark you I had tons of other things doing. I thank Omni Hotels for making me a master at multitasking. You can take me out of HR but you can’t take the HR out of me????
