I remember a particular day in April 1993 very clearly. I was finished with classes for the day at CSUF when my dad called me to let me know he and his brother sold their company, originally opened in 1959, to Thompson Lacquer Co, a growing automotive paint supply business based out of L.A. I was quite surprised, as I imagined a future in the family business. I remained in the collision repair industry all these years, and always aspired to run my own business. After a few attempts in the past, some circumstances have allowed me to open DeWitt’s A to Z Paint Supply at the same building in Montclair that was an original location back in 1993. I am proud to carry on the name that garnered a stellar reputation as a leading automotive paint and supply distributor in the Inland Empire. I didn’t get the opportunity to fill my dad’s shoes at the original company, but I’m putting my own pair on now. A huge thank you to my wife Amanda and kids for their incredible support they have provided during the past 5 months. I can only hope DeWitt’s can be half as successful as the original, because that company was pretty great!
