Check out this short video of the Houston Methodist Hospital Logistics Service Center project! We designed 245,000 square feet of lease space for Houston Methodist Hospital in a new 1.3 million-square-foot distribution center. The hospital consolidated its logistics operations from multiple sites to a single, cross-dock lease space that includes high-piled storage, secured IT storage, biomedical department repair shop, truck fleet shop, employee fitness center, off-site training rooms, and office space. The design team considered ways to reduce permanent impact to the base building, which included incorporating modified Conex shipping containers for warehouse floor offices and conference rooms so that they can be relocated to a new lease space when needed. Another non-permanent design feature was incorporating ceiling-mounted projectors that display drive aisle, directional, and wayfinding information on the floor in lieu of traditional painted pathway clearance and directional markers or stickers. Separate paths of travel for forklifts and pedestrians, flashing stop signs, and warning signs were projected at traffic and pedestrian intersection points. https://lnkd.in/em5K36Jn More about this project can be found in our project profile: https://lnkd.in/ep6esBsc Houston Methodist #architecture #healthcare #industrial #Houston

The Town of Cornelius, North Carolina, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new tennis and pickleball court complex at Bailey Road Park. Town officials celebrated the occasion by giving a ceremonial first serve with golden tennis rackets and pickleball paddles. The expansion to the existing park will be completed in two phases. Phase one of the project will include six new tennis courts, the conversion of three existing tennis courts into ten pickleball courts, and a parking lot expansion. Additionally, the project includes a new sand filter best management practice used to treat stormwater that runs off from the parking lots and tennis courts, including removal of phosphorous and nitrogen that gets collected in the stormwater from paved areas. Phase two of the project will include six additional tennis courts, a new restroom building, shade structures and bleachers, and additional parking. Our firm is proud to provide surveying, professional engineering, and landscape architecture to prepare cost estimates and feasibility studies, design and permitting of construction drawings, bidding support, and construction observation services for the project! #Charlotte #CommunityFacilities?
