Let’s be honest—paying taxes isn’t anyone’s favorite. But when you pay your property tax, you’re doing much more than checking off a yearly obligation; you’re sending powerful support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities! How? St. Charles County twice approved a tax (real and personal) to support citizens with developmental disabilities—once in '77 and again in '86. This line item (.1223% per $100 assessed valuation) generates over $2M for the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board (DDRB) to fund services from local nonprofits like BCI. Over 3,000 individuals access critically needed services and supports, including early intervention, therapies, residential, employment/employment training, respite for caregivers, socialization/recreation, technology/technology training, and adaptive equipment. Take a quick peek at your bill breakdown, and you’ll see it. And while it’s a small part of the overall total, its impact is huge! Other counties are also funded this way. So, as the December 31 deadline approaches, we thank you all for being part of something big. Your support strengthens our community and changes lives! #Community #PersonalPropertyTax #ThankYou #InclusionMatters #Disability Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of St. Charles County

If accessibility is not integrated throughout your product lifecycle, the best time to include it is when you are already refreshing your brand or website. Recently, we saw Campbell's Soup make accessibility updates to its packaging and digital presence, showing that it’s faster and cheaper to build accessibility proactively rather than reactively. By making these changes during a refresh, Campbell's demonstrated that accessibility isn’t a one-time fix—it’s a commitment to continuous improvement. The results speak for themselves: Campbell's saw increased sales following these accessibility improvements. Read this article for more details on how prioritizing accessibility helped them reach a wider audience and drive growth. For companies looking to make a lasting impact, it’s essential to maintain accessibility as an ongoing program. This approach keeps costs down, ensures smoother user experiences, and drives brand loyalty by showing that everyone belongs. #Accessibility #InclusiveDesign #ContinuousImprovement #ProductDevelopment #DigitalInclusion #Inclusion #Disability https://lnkd.in/eCiWa-Ui

ID: a picture of Sean’s upcoming book, “The ABCs of Disabilities” releasing this year. The book is on a white background. The book cover is an off-white-yellow colored background. It is a playful cover with the first three letters in a brighter yellow for “A”, the letter B is in orange, and the letter C is in purple. Illustrations of kids are playing all over the letters, with Sean’s illustrated character being on top of the letter C. He is waving. The character on top of “A” is holding an orange flag that had the word “the” on it, one kid is hiding behind the letter “B” and there’s another character in front of it standing. Besides her, a kid in a walker is on one side and on the other, a kid with Down’s syndrome is sitting on the ground playing with blocks. There’s an orange basketball by the letter C. Below it says Sean’s name as the author. Illustrated by Anna and Daniel Clark. Up top is a quote from @Maryfashik: “a beautifully crafted and thoughtfully illustrated book that introduces young readers to the diverse world of disabilities.”
